African Recordings I Uli Aumüller

Three choirs, the Abbeka Presbyterian Church Choir, the Nyame Adehyeman Sacred Choral Group and the Achimota Highschool Choir sing works of the more than 100-years-old Ghanaian choral tradition of this country, that combines African lyrics, African rhythms with polyphonic structures inherited from Europe. These recordings had been done in 1994, during our investigations for our TV documentary “Composers under the tree of god: Art-Music in Ghana” (Bayerisches Fernsehen, 1995).
