Jorge Antunes studied violin, composition and conducting, and majored in Physics. His post-graduate studies were pursued in Buenos Aires, Paris and Utrecht. In 1962 Antunes founded the Chromo-Music Research Studio and has since been recognized as one of the pioneers of electronic music in Brazil. In 1965 he began to explore the correspondences between sound and color, writing works which he called Cromoplastofonias.
