On the programme of the concert featuring six woman musicians on June 7, 2009 at 9 pm at L’envers in Montréal are the duets Magali Babin — Joane Hétu, Anne-F — Hélène Prévost, and solo performances by Myléna Bergeron, and Pascale Trudel.
April 29 – 30, 2009: Magali Babin Presents Natura Sonoris in Montréal
As part of their 2008-09 season, Productions SuperMusique presents Natura Sonoris, a Carte Blanche to Magali Babin. Drawing inspiration from composer Krzysztof Penderecki and his disquieting music, Magali Babin, along with Myléna Bergeron, Karl Lemieux and L’Œil de verre, will present a multimedia work that pushes forward the fearsome audio-visual attacks of five of the most imaginative young artists in Montréal today. The concerts will take place on April 29 and 30, 2009, at the Laboratoire nouveaux médias — Oboro.

March 20, 2008: Babin in Performance, Montréal
Magali Babin will present Onion Router (audio interactive performance with projection) on March 20, 2008 as part of the Studio XX’s Salon Femmes br@nchées at Galerie B-312 in Montréal, whereas Tara Rodgers will present Butterfy Effects (multichannel sound performance).
November 15, 2007 – January 31, 2008: Babin in Residence at Studio XX, Montréal
Magali Babin, artist whose sonorous performances are characterized by a minimalistic approach, is in residence at Studio XX (Montréal) from mid-November 2007 until January 31, 2008. During the residence, she will create a game interface for an interactive performance inspired by Tor (decentralized network that allows anonymous connexion on the Internet); a project to experimenting techniques of surveillance, concepts of simulation and technological hoaxes.
May 23, 2007: Époxy 4: Babin, Bernier, Dumas, in Montréal
During the next Époxy (a music series that presents works based on a relation between a composer and a theorist, mathematician, philosopher, architect or another artist) Magali Babin will present a piece that relates to Sophie Calle’s work, Nicolas Bernier will make reference to the essay The Electronic Revolution by William S Burroughs, and Chantal Dumas will offer a composition based on the two different worlds of John Cage and of Toronto artist Mike Hoolboom. Epoxy 4 will take place on May 23, 2007 at La Sala Rossa, Montréal. You can listen to online audio clips of some of these musicians on Chemin de fer and Étude no 3 pour cordes et poulies.

Katharine Norman’s book Sounding Art (242 pages + 1 CD) is now available on electrocd.com. The book describes various aspects of sound art, and presents the work of many artists such as Magali Babin, Luc Ferrari, Barry Truax, Francisco López, Hildegard Westerkamp, Francis Dhomont, Merzbow, John Oswald, and Martin Tétreault.
