Blackburn Gets First Prize at Musicworks Contest
Toronto magazine Musicworks has just announced that the acousmatic work Landline by Manuella Blackburn was awarded the First prize at its Musicworks Electronic Music Composition Contest 2018. Works by the collective Chroma Mixed Media (Katerina Gimon, David Storen, Brian Topp) and Epa Fassianos were respecdtively awarded 2nd and 3rd prize. Honorable mentions were given to works by Elliott Lupp and Bekah Simms.

The “Nuit blanche” concert of the 12th Festival Internacional de Música Electroacústica de Chile, Ai-maako, will start on January 11, 2013 at 11pm to finish nine hours later the next morning. The programme features women composers with four portrait-segments with Manuella Blackburn, Beatriz Ferreyra, Cecilia García-Gracia, and Christine Groult, several works by Renätä Anäyä, Natasha Barrett, Ingrid Drese, Monique Jean, Elainie Lillios, and Hildegard Westerkamp, and works by Elizabeth Anderson, Françoise Barrière, Denise García, Elsa Justel, Line Katcho, Abril Padilla, Agnès Poisson, Andrea Szigetvári, and Annette Vande Gorne.

On November 12, 2012 at the Black Box of the Helsinki Music Centre, the Sibelius Academy produces an acousmatic concert with Switched on by Manuella Blackburn, Rumeurs (Place de Ransbeck) by Robert Normandeau and works by Adam Basanta, Visa Kuoppala, Timothy Cooper, and James Andean.
Blackburn, Karamanlis Win the Métamorphoses 2012
The first prize of the 7th acousmatic composition competition Métamorphoses 2012 was awarded to Manuella Blackburn for her work Switched on. The Public Prize went to Orestis Karamanlis for his work Toys.
