Laurent Cuniot

The musical activities of the conductor and composer Laurent Cuniot are determined by his desire to once again make appreciable to creators, performers and the public the necessary and beneficial dependence that exists between past and contemporary works. This style that he has developed, most notably with the Ensemble TM+ for which he has served as musical director since 1985, is based on programming choices which, by the intended confrontations that result, reveal across the decades the connections between the works. This viewpoint implies stylistic and sonic work which is in opposition to current specializations, and allows one to approach music from Haydn to the present day. Laurent Cuniot has directed instrumental groups such as the Ensemble instrumental de Grenoble, the National Orchestra of Lille and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Radio-France. More
