Betty Goodwin

Born in Montréal, Betty Goodwin has done original works recognized both here and abroad. Her work deals essentially with the individual through the representation of the body. “We find in everyone’s daily experiences obstacles relating to communication,” she says. “Sometimes, the effect is comical, but in a long-term and historical context, the cumulative effect of misunderstandings has been tragic.” Art critic Robert Enright believes “nobody has laid out in such a constant and moving way the body’s delicate negotiations between the being and the non-being, between presence and absence… between hope and despair.” More
