November 30, 2013: Dhomont, Chowning, Henry Get the Giga-Hertz-Award 2013
The Giga-Hertz-Award 2013 celebrates the career of two composers and three production prizes are given to composers for projects to be realized at the ZKM or the Experimentalstudio. The grand prizes for electronic music were attributed to John Chowning and Francis Dhomont while the three production prizes were awarded to Roque Rivas, Alexander Schubert, and Ying Wang. The grand prize for sound art was attributed to Pierre Henry. The awards will be presented on November 30, 2013 at the ZKM (Karlsruhe, Germany).

The Futura festival will take place from August 21 to 24, 2008 in Crest (France). Amongst guest composers, let’s point Patrick Ascione, Natasha Barrett, Michel Chion, Pierre Henry, and Lionel Marchetti’s presence. Also, in the Nuit blanche programme (August 23rd) Gilles Gobeil will present his piece Ombres, espaces, silences…, Francis Dhomont will diffuse Signé Dionysos, and Annette Vande Gorne her piece Exil, chant II.

August 18 – 27, 2006: 35 Hours of Non-Stop Electro at Futura 06, Crest, France
This year, the Futura 06 festival in Crest (France) is compressed into a 3-day event — August 18 — 20, 2006 — and into one 35-hour concert. Amongst the featured composers: Luc Ferrari (homage), Michèle Bokanowski, Michel Chion, Darren Copeland, Matmos, Yann Paranthoën (homage), Elsa Justel, Roxanne Turcotte, and Pierre Henry. Then on August 27, a concert concluding an acousmatic diffusion workshop will feature 15 works by just as many composers, including Francis Dhomont and Marc Tremblay.

November 27, 2005: Silence Festival in Italy
The 2005 Silence festival will be held from November 25 to 27, 2005 at the IPS Gorjux auditorium in Bari (Italy). The acousmatic concerts will feature works by Pierre Henry, François Bayle. Luc Ferrari, Bernard Parmegiani, Luciano Berio, Jean-Claude Risset, Beatriz Ferreyra and many others.

Ina-GRM: Henry and Parmegiani
Two new long-awaited releases from French label Ina-GRM (Groupe de recherches musicales). Firstly, the reissue of Bernard Parmegiani’s Violostries, a 6-work double CD dating back from what he calls The Age of Sewing, a “period when scissors helped us calibrate sounds and silences.” Finally, the new CD Labyrinthe! by Pierre Henry, a sound expedition in 10 sequences, premiered at an historical GRM concert in March 2003.
