A Yale-educated composer / trombonist, George Lewis grew up in Chicago (Illinois, USA) and has played trombone with some of the United States of America’s great musicians and composers, including Von Freeman, Muhal Richard Abrams and Gil Evans. George Lewis is active as an intermedia artist, working with interactive computer music, improvisation, and theatre. George Lewis is currently Visiting Artist at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago as well as a Visiting Regents Professor of Music at the University of California at Berkeley (USA).
