Her studies have led her to classical singing and the great coloratura roles which she has prepared with Gina Cigna, as well as very early on towards contemporary performance (she attended as an auditor the electroacoustic courses given by Pierre Schaeffer and Guy Reibel in 1979). She joined the Opéra de Lyon in 1983. Since then, she has been heard at the Opéra de Paris in La chatte anglaise by HW Henze (title role), Don Carlos by Verdi, La Célestine by M Ohana and on other stages in numerous roles including the Queen of the Night under the direction of Manuel Rosenthal, Georges Prêtre, Armin Jordan, Denis Russell-Davis, Arturo Tamayo… A performer with an affection for the Second Viennese School, she sings Berg (Lulu in Lettres clandestines by Pierre Mertens), Webern and Schönberg (2nd String Quartet at the Opéra comique and the Théâtre des Champs Élysées, Herzgewächse at Ircam, and Pierrot lunaire in diverse places and, particularly, in its theatrical version.) As for contemporary repertoire, she has performed regularily with the ensembles 2e2m, Itinéraire, Musique oblique and performed numerous works by composers such as Ohana, Reibel, Dufour, Mion, Paris, Cuniot, Lenot, Burgan, Capdenat, Jarrell, and Leroux. At the same time, her passion for the theatre and for working with great scenic directors (G Lavelli, Bob Wilson, P Caurier and M Leiser…) has led her to develop a personal style and to take up the directing of lyric theatre. Among others, she has produced L’Enfant et les sortilèges, Chauve-souris, Combat de Tancrède and Clorinde.
