Continuation of the Rien à voir series, the Akousma (4) mini-festival presents electroacoustic music in its many forms on November 28 to December 1, 2007 at the Monument-National in Montréal. Will perform: Miguel Azguime, Natasha Barrett, Nicolas Bernier, Georges Forget, Gilles Gobeil, Laurie Radford, Robert Normandeau, and the winners of the Hugh Le Caine Award of the 2007 SOCAN Foundation Awards for Young Composers. Acousmatic pieces by Martin Bédard, Robert Normandeau, Mathew Adkins, Laurie Radford, Pete Stollery, plus a videomusic by Pierre Alexandre Tremblay will be presented during the MANTIS South-North Weekend Festival from March 9 to 11, 2007 in Manchester (UK). A total of 21 acousmatic compositions and 6 audiovisual works have been selected amongst the 186 proposals from composers from 32 countries.
The Fibonacci Trio will premiere three new mixed by Laurie Radford, Cléo Palacio-Quintin, and Yannick Plamondon on May 20, 2004 at Redpath Hall in Montréal. Also on the programme: James Clark and Nicolas Gilbert.
Música Viva 2003, the International Festival of Electroacoustic Music held in Coimbra’s Museu dos Transportes (Portugal), presents 6 days of concerts from September 12 to 18, 2003. Composer Barry Truax will present an octophonic concert September 17, featuring works of Wende Bartley and Laurie Radford (with viola by Laura Wilcox). The following night, September 19, the concert is dedicated to mixed works for percussions with compositions by Kaija Saariaho, Beatriz Ferreyra and Elsa Justel.
