June 8, 2003: Dedans/dehors, A Sound Installation by Chantal Dumas
There is a space in town where we can hear the forest breathing, where we can listen to a brook, insects, the wind in the trees. There is a phone number which the public is invited to dial to say something about a tree they like. Each story told is a new tree which will become part of the growing forest. There is you strolling through the forest. And because every system reacts to foreign presence, the forest will react to yours. This sound installation is a way of opposing resistance to the rapid disappearance of our forests. Simply call +1/514-872-2766 starting April 16, 2003. You have one minute to give a commentary about your tree, to tell its story in the language of your choice. And then come visit Chantal Dumas’s forest at L’Art qui fait boum! from April 16 to June 8, 2003 at the Marché Bonsecours (Montréal).
