Dreams in the Desert calls to mind reveries of a person on a desert caravan. Scenes play through the dreamer’s mind; perhaps they are memories past or maybe longings for another time and place.
Dreams in the Desert was realized in 2001 at the Bowling Green State University Electroacoustic Studios and in the composer’s home studio in Bowling Green (Ohio, USA), and premiered on November 8, 2001 during the 20th EuCuE concert series at the Oscar Peterson Concert Hall, Concordia University in Montréal (Québec). Thanks to Pauline Oliveros for Deep Listening guidance and Michael Thompson, Ian Chuprun, and Adrian Moore for recording assistance.
