Not to be missed: An homage concert for Marcelle Deschênes and launch of her disc petits Big Bangs on April 25, 2007 at Salle Claude-Champagne of Université de Montréal.

Érick d’Orion will present his Solo de musique concrète pour 6 pianos sans pianiste ausio installation, realized as part of a Recto-Verso artist residency programme. The space imagined by the artist invites people to rediscover the piano in a “concrete” perspective, exploring it without the usual intermediaries (scores, musicians). 6 pianos of different eras will react to impulsions given by eccentrics mechanics placed on the structures. The event takes place on Thursday March 29, 2007 at the Studio d’Essai of Méduse in Québec City.

Musiques & Recherches will present a concert that will premiere different electro works on April 27, 2007 at Petit Théâtre Mercelis in Brussels (Belgium). Amongst other titles, Liaisons mécaniques by Nicolas Bernier (commissioned by Musiques & Recherches with the support of the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec), the new piece Arenas by Horacio Vaggione, and Distance liquide by Hans Tutschku.

On March 30, 2007 Ensemble Ars Nova will be performing Crack — Integra’s first commission to Natasha Barrett — during the Connect Festival at Lunds Universitet (Sweden). The composer collaborated to a project with La Kitchen (Paris) to develop the electronic elements that are used in the piece.

New works by each of the University of Sheffield Music Department’s three staff composers — Amongst them Adrian Moore — together with music by Roger Smalley and Jim Ledger of the University of Western Australia (Perth) will travel in UK and Australia. In this concert, Adrian Moore’s three new electroacoustic works 3 Pieces: Horn, 3 Pieces: Piano, and 3 Pieces: Violin, which focuses around the instrumental timbres of a horn trio, will be performed. Previously presented on March 20 and 21 at the Universities of Sheffield and Surrey, the concert is to be repeated at the University of Bristol on March 23, 2007 with accompanying composition workshops.

In April 9 and 22, the Sheffield composers will then be visiting the University of Western Australia for a short residency, during which they will perform the same programme and take part in a series of workshops and seminars.

Stephan Dunkelman and Annette Vande Gorne will respectively present their works When I Was Wood and Lamento (a movement of Yawar Fiesta) on March 23, 2007 in Brussels as part of the next Électro-Belge concert. Just before, Annette Vande Gorne will take part in the Siberfest 2007 (International Festival of Electronic, Computer Music and Digital Art) in Sibiu (Romania) on March 21 and 22.
