The next San Francisco Tape Music Festival will be held on January 26-28, 2007 at the ODC Theater in San Francisco (USA). Amongst the selected works are Unsound Objects by Jonty Harrison, Topographie de la noirceur by Martin Bédard, scènes, rendez-vous by Pete Stollery, as well as works by James Tenney, György Ligeti, Brian Eno, and Karlheinz Stockhausen.

Entre Belacqua et Nell by Michelle Boudreau will be performed on January 20, 2007 by the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Vancouver (BC). The work for 15 musicians and a “speaking” percussionist (Vern Griffiths) will be conducted by Alain Trudel.

Two concerts will be held soon at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD) in Glasgow (UK). On January 8, 2007, Invisible by Jean-Claude Risset will be presented amongst other works for voice, instruments and tape. On January 9, scènes, rendez-vous by Pete Stollery, and Hot Air by Jonty Harrison, are amongst the featured compositions.

New Music Concerts will present its second “Rien à voir” concert on January 13, 2007 at the Isabel Bader Theatre (Toronto, Canada). The concert will feature the works Ombres, espaces, silences… by Gilles Gobeil, an excerpt of Nylong Symphony by John Oliver, Palimpseste by Robert Normandeau, and Fluke Sound by Ann Southam. Two seminal works for tape by György Ligeti, Artikulation and Glissandi, will also be presented.

Louis Dufort will present his acousmatic work Grain de sable, and John Oliver will present Dust, a mixed work for clarinet and tape performed by François Houle, on December 2, 2006 at a concert prduced by NEXMAP at the Recombinant Media Labs in San Francisco.

Francis Dhomont will be at the University of Manchester (UK) on November 24 and 25, 2006 to present two concerts at the Manchester Theatre in Sound (MANTIS). On November 24, Dhomont will present his works Il ritorno [sections 1 & 2], and Voyage-miroir. The following day, November 25, he will present his works Vol d’Arondes, Les moirures du temps, Un autre Printemps, Phonurgie, and En cuerdas.

A few days earlier, on November 16, Dhomont presented the complete version of Forêt profonde in a concert produced by the Groupe de musique expérimentale de Marseille (GMEM, France).
