The three works on this album were originally composed in multichannel versions. They present three musical universes inspired by distinct inspirations.

Après, les cendres evokes the suffering caused by the thunderbolt that consumes humanity: war. Not only the wars of the past, which we don’t remember enough, but also those of today, as if history were doomed to repeat itself ad infinitum, to the pain of all.

In contrast, Bestiaire à hauteur d’oreille is a fanciful but no less tormented mixed work. It is filled with fulvescent sound materials, evoking the calls, howls and growls of a dreamlike fauna. Commissioned by Productions Totem contemporain, the work was composed for the Babel table, a fascinating instrument designed by Jean-François Laporte, who also serves as its performer.

Avec le temps…, the third work on the album, evokes experiential time through the contractions and dilations of sound matter. This listening experience is made up of nine acousmatic miniatures, but other itineraries are possible when the work is played in concert, enabling the interpreter to modulate at their discretion the different effects of contrast and temporal tension between the miniatures.
