The radio series “Simulcast 2.0: Sackville” will take place on July 28 - August 24, 2009 on CHMA 106.9 FM in Sackville (New Brunswick, Canada) and online (www.mta.ca/students/chma/listen.htm). Four Canadian sound and radio artists have been asked to provide a single sustaining sound to be broadcasted from 2am to 6am. 12:00 by Hélène Prévost will be presented during the first week. Compositions by Mario Gauthier (Transparences in six parts, one per night), i8u (Still Life), and Stéphane Claude (Waves Array) will follow, one per week, until the end of the series.

Theresa Transistor (Christian Bouchard, Christian Calon, Mario Gauthier, Monique Jean) will participate to the first concert of a series called Je me souviens (2) on April 2, 2009 at La Sala Rossa (Montréal). This series is a tribute to Québec electronic music pionneers. This frist concert is dedicated to István Anhalt.

Theresa Transistor (Christian Bouchard, Christian Calon, Mario Gauthier, Monique Jean) will be at the Mois Multi (MM10), a festival of technological arts held in Québec City which takes place from February 12 to March 1, 2009. The quartet will present a work of improvised electroacoustics called Espèces d’espaces on February 12, 2009.

On October 5, 1948 at 9PM on the French radio was broadcasted the very first musique concrète concert. Exactly 60 years later on 2 Montréal radio stations and one Québec City station, Réseaux des arts médiatiques presents a multi-radio event with Érick d’Orion, Mario Gauthier, and Hélène Prévost. These composers will play their own work live and Pierre Schaeffer’s first pieces. The 9th Opus Prizes winners were announced yesterday, January 22, 2006, in Montréal. The “Concert of the Year – actuelle and electroacoustic musics” category goes to the Theresa Transistor quartet (Christian Bouchard, Christian Calon, Mario Gauthier, Monique Jean) while the “Disc of the Year — Musique actuelle, Electroacoustics” is Trilogie d’ondes by Gilles Gobeil.
