Ombres, espaces, silences… by Gilles Gobeil has been selected for a continuous presentation (Harty Room) during the upcoming ICMC 2008 to take place on August 24-29, 2008 in Belfast (Northern Ireland, UK). Moreover, Olivier Bélanger, Elainie Lillios, Pierre Alexandre Tremblay, Mathew Adkins, and Hans Tutschku have works presented in concerts!

The winners of the 35th Bourges’ International Competitions of Electroacoustic Music and Sound Art have been anounced. Amongst others, the following works have been awarded: Orages d’acier by Georges Forget (prize, Degree I — residence); Internal Combustion by Jonty Harrison (mention, Degree II — Trivium/Quadrivium); Walk That Way. Tuesday, Turn. by Pierre Alexandre Tremblay (mention, 7th category: work for multimedia); and L’accordéon du Diable by João Pedro Oliveira (Degree III — Magisterium).

Pierre Alexandre Tremblay will be performing with his Paris-based contemporary jazz trio ars circa musicæ on May 8, 2008 at the Studio de l’ermitage, Paris XX; May 22 at Le Périscope, Lyon; May 24 at L’Atelier du Plateau, Paris XIX; and June 30 at The Oxford, London. He will also perform his piece for bass guitar and laptop, Sandbox#2, in Paris on May 23 as part of the festival Sophie aime le plateau, and in Brighton on July 6 as part of Sonic Arts Network’ Expo Brighton.

Pierre Alexandre Tremblay will be in Montréal, performing and releasing a CD and a DVD-Video. Indeed, Ars circa musicæ will release their first album in a gig at Casa del Popolo on March 26, 2008, and also perform a double-bill with [iks] at Maison de la Culture Notre-Dame-de-Grâce on April 4. [iks] will use this gig to release their 7th recording Le cauchemar de l’horloger (DVD-Video), recorded live last April. But the highlight of this stay is the concert taking place on April 5, joining musicians from 3 countries: the London-based Outhouse, the Paris-based le bruit du [sign] and the Montréal-based [iks].

Pierre Alexandre Tremblay will be performing on February 25, 2008 his Sandbox#2 at The Oxford in London (UK), as part of the Loop Collective series of concerts. He will then fly to France to perform at the release gig of le bruit du [sign], on which he performed laptop. The concert will take place on February 29 at Le Zèbre de Belleville (France).

The GEMdays Festival will take place from January 24 to 27, 2008 at the University of Huddersfield (UK). Mathew Adkins, Gilles Gobeil, Sylvain Pohu, and Pierre Alexandre Tremblay are some of the guest composers.
