With Geisteswissen­schaften, A_dontigny approches directly or metaphorically an artist (Koons, Turner), a movement (American and French abstractionism), an author (Nietzsche, Foucault, Derrida, Frege) or even a concept (such as the impossible to translate “Wirkungsgeschichtesbewusstsein”) and produces a disc which is in parallel to ‘traditional’ electroacoustics and (industrial, punk and techno sub-cultures) electronica. A feast made with 3 accomplices: Paul Dolden, Diane Labrosse, and Jon Vaughn.

The No Type label will be well represented at the next edition of the Suoni Per Il Popolo festival (Sounds for the People) presented in Montréal in June 2005. On June 8, 2005, morceaux_de_machines and Esther B will play alongside Howard Stelzer and Bernhard Gal Intransitive Recordings label from Cambridge (USA). Then, two electronic superstars, Magali Babin and Jon Vaughn, will present an exclusive collaboration on June 18, 2005 for the Libératrices: créatrices night, dedicated to women in improvisation.

Jon Vaughn invites everyone to a celebration around the CD Front, recently released on the No Type label. Many performnces are scheduled, amongst other an electroacoustic presentation by Steve Reed, dj sets by Holzkopf and Scant Intone and video interventions by Carrie Gates. In the absence of Max Haiven, Jon Vaughn will perform a solo version of Front. This CD launch will be held Friday December 26, 2003 at Saskatoon’s AKA Gallery.

After a surprising performance in Montréal for the Rien à voir (14) concert series held October 2003, iconoclasts activists behind Front, Max Haiven (Halifax) and Jon Vaughn (Saskatoon), are now disseminating their irrevencial work across Canada. Contrarily to many contemporary works, Front is a 73-minute composition which cause nothing less than a confrontation between your perception of the world and the world itself! When is the last time you truly experienced art?

Saskatoon’s unique Ramada Golf Dome will host the video-musical event Digidome from September 27 to 29, 2002. Based on the meeting of B movies and glitch, Digidome features artists Ian Birse and Laura Kavanaugh, Camp, A_dontigny, duul_drv, Carrie Gates, Max Haiven, Marinko Jareb, LiminaL projects, Jon Vaughn, vitaminsforyou and a workshop on the use of vinyl and turntables in new music with Esther B.
