In concert at the “Three Faces of Electroacoustic Music” event, Belgian composer Stephan Dunkelman will launch on European grounds his first CD, Rhizomes, released on the label empreintes DIGITALes, on June 11, 2002 at the Boendael Chapel in Brussels (Belgium).

Intriguing.” (Ampersand Etc, Australia) morceaux_de_machines and Oeuf Korreckt, two electronic projects, launch their new No Type CDs with a friendly happy-hour Sunday June 2, 2002 at Québec City’s “Kookening Kafé.” Montréal residents will be able to enjoy a morceaux_de_machines outdoor concert in collaboration with comix artist Guy Boutin, the afternoon of June 7, 2002 during the annual celebrations on avenue du Mont-Royal.

In concert at Casa del Popolo (Montréal) Thursday May 9, 2002, the Kappa ensemble plays, amongst others, the compositions ElectroniK by Nicolas Basque, Pourpre est la nuit by Alain Thibault and Paul Dolden’s guitar and tape pieces Physics of Seduction and The Vertigo of a Ritualized Frenzy.

Composer Francis Dhomont is scheduled for a concert and a workshop at Mexico City’s “IV International Sound Art Festival: Hábitat Sónico,” held June 15 to July 7, 2002. He will be one of the jury members at the 8th edition of Fribourg’s Sacred Music Festival (Switzerland), this year is dedicated to electroacoustic works, July 7-14. July 10, he will also be jury member for the electroacoustic compositions classes of the Conservatoire royal de Mons(Belgium) and about the same time, jury member for the acousmatic music competition “Métamorphoses” in Ohain (Belgium).

No Type’s first two CD releases, The Freest of Radicals (an eclectic compilation of 35 international musicians) and Chemin de fer (the very first CD by Montréal sound artist Magali Babin), will be launched at Casa del Popolo (Montréal), Saturday April 27, 2002. A joyous night of live performances by Magali Babin and morceaux_de_machines, the ideal way to get acquainted with No Type’s young electronic artists.

Thursday April 11, 2002, the “ElectroacousticWALES” concert will celebrate Jonty Harrison’s 50th birthday. His compositions Splintering, Surface Tension and Sorties, from his most recent CD Évidence matérielle will be presented alongside new works by Ozzie Johnstone, Rick Nance and Stellios Giannoulakis. Directed by Andrew Lewis, the event will be held during the Bangor New Music festival, held from April 10 to 13, 2002 at the University of Wales Bangor (UK).
