The C3R label released the first CD of three dedicated to the retrospective of Gordon Monahan’s work. This album features two of Monahan’s popular favorites: Speaker Swinging & Piano Mechanics.

Two new releases from the Intr_version label are now available on electrocd.com. The duo Désormais continues its exploration od melancholic electronic textures on Dead Letters to Lost Friends. Also released is More Than Tongue Can Tell, a first album for the Avia Gardner project, whose strange songs sail through many fragmented emotions.

Just a few days after the passing of Robert Moog, Montréal’s cult band The Unireverse (a trio fueled by the analog sounds of the Moog synthesizers) unveils their first “real” album, the surprising and psychedelic Plays the Music. On this album, The Unireverse propose an excellent blend of tasty covers (The Beatles, Donna Summer, Brainticket) and wild original tracks.

After another well received edition of the festival, the Mutek team launches new discs on its Mutek_rec label: the double CD compilation of this year’s festival, Mutek 05; the second album by the Chilean duo Skipsapiens, Eco; and two vinyl releases, One Foot on Either Side of the Ladder by The Mole and Paléotronique by Luci.

Small Canadian label C3R just released two new albums of extreme musics. Firstly, Norwegian composers Maja Solveig Kjelstrup Ratkje and Lasse Marhaug presents the third installement in their Music for… series (after Music for Shopping and Music for Loving) with Music for Faking. A dense and dynamic collaboration with a touch of humour. Secondly, Tsurubami (a trio of members from Acid Mothers Temple) set out on a new adventure into cosmic and psychedelic improvised rock on Shohjohkisshohtan.

Two years after Le contrat, an adaptation of Goethe’s Faust, composed in collaboration with René Lussier, Gilles Gobeil unveils his Trilogie d’ondes (Ondes Trilogy), mixed works for ondes Martenot and tape, brilliantly interpreted by Suzanne Binet-Audet. The second DVD-Audio release by the empreintes DIGITALes label, Trilogie d’ondes presents new recordings of Voix blanche (White Voice) and Là où vont les nuages… (Where the Clouds Go…) in addition to La perle et l’oubli (Pearl and Oblivion), inspired by the Gnostic text Hymn of the Pearl.
