Composers Pierre Alexandre Tremblay and Ned Bouhalassa are both nominated for the Opus Prize in the category “Concert of the Year — actuelle and electroacoustic music,” for their concert held in the Akousma (2) series produced by Réseaux in December 2005. The 10th Opus Prize Gala will take place on January 28, 2006 at the Salle Claude-Champagne, Université de Montréal.

An interview with composer Paul Dolden by Jeremy Owen Turner is published in issue 96 of Musicworks, Toronto (Canada).

Tim Brady and Marjan Mozetich won the Jan V Matejcek Prize for concert music, awarded by SOCAN on November 21 and 22, 2006.

Composer Hans Tutschku won the First Prize (Category A) in the Musica Nova 2006 International Electroacoustic Music Competition (Prague, Czech Republic) for his work Rojo. Silent Red by Mathew Adkins was amongst the finalists.

John Oliver’s composition Dust (available on the CD Double Entendre) is a finalist in the Outstanding Classical Composition category of the Western Canadian Music Awards to be held in Winnipeg on October 22, 2006.
