Asymmetry Music Magazine is a new web magazine directed by Michael Karman. The first “issue” presents an interview with Michèle Bokanowski and reviews of all 30 discs from the Cinéma pour l’oreille series produced by Jérôme Noetinger in 1992-2002. In preparation: interviews with Jon Christopher Nelson and Francis Dhomont (met in Montréal for his 80th anniversary concert) and reviews of empreintes DIGITALes releases…

The Bande à part website, broadcaster — via satellite radio, FM radio, and the web — of emerging and exploratory musics goes “Inside the sound with Louis Dufort” (in French).

Pierre Alexandre Tremblay won the Opus Prize for the “Concert of the Year — actuelle and electroacoustic music,” for his concert entitled Alter ego presented during the Akousma (2) series produced by Réseaux in December 2005.

The Orford Arts Centre (Québec) announces its 2nd Sound Creation Workshop as part of the International Music Academy. Held from July 2 to 14, 2007 the workshop, directed by Yves Daoust, is open to sound creators of all styles. This year Yves Daoust has invited guest “masters” Alain Savouret, Paul Koonce, Louis Dufort, Alexandre Burton, and “tonmeister” Jean Landry.
