  • May 9, 2011: Annette Vande Gorne’s Work Celebrated

    At the initiative of composer Stephan Dunkelman, 4 acousmatic composers amongst the most important of the genre — François Bayle, Francis Dhomont, Beatriz Ferreyra, and Bernard Parmegiani — pay homage to the work of Annette Vande Gorne on May 9, 2011 at a concert in Flagey in Brussels (Belgium). They will each diffuse a work by Vande Gorne and premiere a new work of their own. On the same programme are more premieres by Jonty Harrison, Ingrid Drese, Raúl Minsburg, and Elsa Justel.

    Francis Dhomont is one of the guests of honnor at the 2011 RIME in Monaco. He will give a conference and present Phonurgie, and Premières traces du Choucas in concerts May 5 and 6, 2011. On May 9 he will be joined by 3 other pioneers of acousmatics — François Bayle, Beatriz Ferreyra, and Bernard Parmegiani — for a tribute acousmatic concert to Annette Vande Gorne’s work in Brussels (Belgium).

    Marcelle Deschênes starts a 3-week tour in Europe with a solo concert presented by Les Acousmonautes at Cité de la musique in Marseille (France) on March 14, 2011. She will then take part in Ars Musica’s Night of Electronic Music in Brussels (Belgium) on March 23. While in residency at GMVL in Lyon (France) from March 24 to April 4 she will perform a solo acousmatic concert presented by Motus at Les Voûtes in Paris (France) on March 29 and a third solo concert preceded by a concert of works by her ex-students both presented by GMVL at Villa Gillet in Lyon in March 31.
