Michel Chion consacre son récent billet à Francis Dhomont: «Francis Dhomont nous a quittés le 28 décembre dernier, en Avignon où, après avoir vécu et enseigné à Montréal, il s’était installé pour sa retraite d’enseignant avec sa femme, l’artiste colombienne Inés Wickmann. Né en 1926, un an donc avant Pierre Henry, il était notre doyen à toutes et tous. Inés et son amie Annette Vande Gorne ont fait circuler la nouvelle, et les hommages de compositeurs·trices internationaux, auxquels je me suis joint, n’ont cessé d’affluer pendant quelques jours sur ma boite mail. L’homme, ouvert, chaleureux et qui a beaucoup fait pour les autres, y était autant loué que l’œuvre.»

The album Lames de fond by Martin Bédard and Marie-Hélène Breault and the album Docu-fictions by Yves Daoust are nominated for the 2022-23 Opus Prize in the category “Album of the Year — Musique actuelle, Electroacoustics.” The 27th Opus Prize Gala will take place on February 4, 2024 at Salle Bourgie of the Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal.

Among the 18 winning and finalist pieces of the Musica Nova 2023 International Competition of Electroacoustic Music (Prague, Czech Republic) the acousmatic piece Honey (Architectures From Silence No. 1) by Martin Bédard was awarded First Prize, Après, les cendres by Stéphane Roy earned an honorable mention, while Voices in the Dark by Adrian Moore and Vox Alia III - Vox intima by Annette Vande Gorne and Werner Lambersy were finalists in this category. In the mixed music category it is Sound Play by John Young that took First Prize.

The album Into the Forest by Louis Dufort is nominated for the 2021-22 Opus Prize in the category “Album of the Year — Musique actuelle, Electroacoustics.” The work Le ravissement by Robert Normandeau — available on the album Mélancolie — is nominated in the category “Premiere of the Year.” The 26th Opus Prize Gala will take place on February 5, 2023 at Salle Bourgie of the Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal.
