Monique Jean will be in residence in Toronto as part of the SoundPlay festival presented by New Aventures in Sound Art. Figures du temps will be presented and Dancing on the Edge of Silence world premiered on Friday October 26, 2007. Furthermore, a lecture givent by Monique Jean and François Girouard will take place at Labo (Le Laboratoire d’art) in Toronto on October 25.

Natasha Barrett is presenting the multimedia sound art installation Barely_Part 1 from September 30 until October 14, 2007 in Kanonhallen as part of the Ultima festival in Oslo (Norway)… If you are in Europe at that moment, a roundabout way towards North would be worthy.

La basilique fantôme by Arturo Parra and Stéphane Roy has been selected by the 7th Festival Internacional de Música Electroacústica, Ai-maako 2007 in Santiago (Chile), and will be presented on October 17, 2007. Also note the presence of Åke Parmerud who will present a portrait concert, Francis Dhomont, Beatriz Ferreyra, Elsa Justel, João Pedro Oliveira, Hans Tutschku, and Trevor Wishart Amongst many others…

The choreography Interiors by Laurence Lemieux, for which John Oswald was sound advisor, will be presented as part of the Mainstage Series on October 25 to 27, 2007 at Enwave Theatre in Toronto.

Pour une poignée de billes by Érick d’Orion will be presented as part of the Projectiles exhibition by Perte de signal at Expression in Saint-Hyacinthe, from September 22 to November 4, 2007. Pour une poignée de billes is composed of 62 audio recordings of marbles thrown on a wood or cardboard floor. The recordings were treated so as to make the source unrecognizable. The piece is a succesive accumulation of sounds that creates an abstract acoustic mass. It can be listened in loop: it has no end nor begining.

On the closing event of the Antenne-A festival the Consort contemporain de Québec (CCQ) will combine the music of Steve Reich with the electronic processing of sound artist Érick d’Orion on satyrday October 6 starting at 10pm at salle Multi of Méduse in Québec City.
