Gabriel Dharmoo, who presents his electronic compositions on the album Besoins cathodiques, won the SOCAN Foundation’s Godfrey Ridout Award for his composition À l’homme. Also awarded is young composer Martin Leclerc who won both first and second prize of the Hugh Le Caine Award for his electroacoustics works … et le ça and Il y a… il y avait des fleurs.

Visual artist and cartoonist Guy Boutin, who signs the cover art for liberum arbitrium, shows his latest works September 7 to 28, 2002 at Montréal’s Studio 303.

Kenojuak Ashevak, Inuit artist who signs the cover of CD Titakti by Philippe Le Goff, exhibits her work at the National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa) until October 20, 2002. Free admission.

Chants libres presents its new creation Pacamambo, an opera for children composed by Zack Settel and Wajdi Mouawad. Pacamambo is an electroacoustic work for voice, percussions and flute. Produced with the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal and the festival Les coups de théâtre.

Robert Normandeau won the first prize of the 2002 Freiburg International Sacred Music Composition competition with his newest work, Chorus, commissioned by Réseaux. (This work was also presented at the Tolérance concert of the Rien à voir (12) series in September 2002 in Montréal.)
