This section of the 2CD work Grayfolded is derived entirely from concert recordings of the Grateful Dead performing what was loosely called Space. These were electronic improvisations by the group. A moderately edited 2 minute performance fragment is here displaced in an eight octave time / pitch expansion and contraction. At one brief point the first sixty minutes of the piece is contracted into a 16,384-fold time compression which transpires in a couple of seconds. In addition to Bell Speeds this is the only one of my pieces presented in these concerts that is currently available on CD.
