I composed this divertimento in COVID isolation, while looking for something to help me handle an uncertain, fleeting reality. Lacking the spirits to seek out new sound sources, I decided to have some fun and use various objects to play around with old clichés, especially the classic rebound effect. Déjà vu, so nothing new, just some wilted materials that keep on reappearing, entwined in a vicious cobweb.

Déjà vu was realized in 2019-20 at the composer’s studio in Mar del Plata (Argentina) and was premiered first on the radio on September 21, 2020 as part of the series Suena así brodcasted on Radio CASo — Casa Nacional del Bicentenario (Buenos Aires, Argentina), and then in concert on June 13, 2021 during Simplicity, a concert presented as part of the series Neue Musik in St Ruprecht at the Ruprechtskirche in Vienna (Austria).
