Before the first concert, we went back to Érick d’Orion’s sound installation. First of all, it’s physically beautiful: six ruined pianos of various shapes and eras. High class. The soundtrack of piano solos is played back at low volume, often drowned by the vibrations of the motors set in motion by the soundtrack (frequencies are digitally assigned to the motors attached to the pianos). Very nice work.
