    You can hear excerpts from La chambre blanche by Robert Normandeau — and excerpts of music by Bernard Parmegiani and Frances White — in the new film Paranoid Park by the American filmmaker Gus Van Sant. The film director was awarded the Festival de Cannes’s 60th Anniversary Prize, Stephen Frears announced, “for his career, and because he made a lovely film.” Gus Van Sant had previously won the festival’s top prize in 2003 for his film Elephant (which includes music by Hildegard Westerkamp).     For his piece À propos de K Francis Dhomont was commissioned by the French State (Music Office) in 2007; the work premiered at Ina-GRM on November 11, 2006. His Forêt profonde (1994-96) was awarded the “Prix de la meilleure création contemporaine électroacoustique” (best contemporary electrocoustic work) of the Prix de Printemps 2007 organized by Sacem. Finally, Francis Dhomont along with Inés Wickmann received a grant to realized a videomusic trilogy (based on the colors red, yellow, and blue).
