From July 17 to 29, 2007, the Université d’été de la radio in Arles (France) will propose workshops and conferences by renowned experts. Within that framework Francis Dhomont will give a master class: 3 days of listening in order to understand the importance of sound in new music and contemporary artistic forms are scheduled from July 18 to 20. These trainings are designed for people interested by sound creative work (musicians, video makers, filmmakers, actors, teachers, critics, radio experts…).

alcides lanza will be in Rosario (Argentina) on May 5 to 8, 2007 to present a master class of Canadian-Argentinian electroacoustic music. The programme notably includes works by Wende Bartley, Gilles Gobeil, and John Oliver.

American trombonist, composer, programmer, and teacher George Lewis will be in Montréal on April 19, 2007 at the Tanna Schulich Hall of McGill University to give the lecture Living with Creative Machines. He will also perform in concert with clarinnetist Lori Freedman where their improvisations will be analyzed and processed by a computer system of his design.

Pierre Alexandre Tremblay, composition teacher at University of Huddersfield (UK), has been invited as a guest lecturer by the Université de Montréal on April 4, 2007 to give a talk on the pragmatic considerations of mixed music.

The videomusic Paysage avec miroir realized by the visual artist Inés Wickmann — for which Ingrid Drese has composed the music — will be presented at Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal as part of the 25th International Festival of Films on Art in March 2007.
