Regularly held in Québec City, the “Machines” concert series celebrates its first year of existence! For the occasion, the “Machines” people prepared two exceptional nights of music December 20 and 21, 2002 at Méduse’s Salle Multi. Featuring Sam Shalabi, Philémon, John Heward, Steve Heimbecker, James Schidlowsky, Samuel Roy-Bois and many, many more!

On November 25, 2002 the MidAmerican Center for Contemporary Music proposed a concert by none other than Jean-François Denis. Works by Yves Daoust, Natasha Barrett, Gilles Gobeil, Philippe Le Goff and Yves Daoust were presented.

After a retrospective concert held during the last edition of L’Espace du son festival (Belgium), followed by a participation at the Bruit de la neige festival (France), Francis Dhomont will present a GRM concert January 13, 2002 at the Olivier Messiaen auditorium (Paris, France). The concert will feature the premiere of Corps et âme (2002), a work composed for Sonopsys magazine to be launched the same day and dedicated to his life and work.

Natasha Barrett was the guest composer of the Third Practice Electroacoustic Music & New Media Arts Festival in Richmond (USA) in November 2002. She presented Viva la Selva!, Liquid Crystal for clarinet and tape, and Prince Prospero’s Party.

In collaboration with Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, composers Christian Bouchard and Jacques Tremblay invites you for a discussion and an electroacoustic concert Wednesday November 27, 2002 at 8pm. With featured works by Yves Daoust, Monique Jean, Christian Bouchard and Martin Bédard. At Côte-des-Neiges’ “Maison de la culture” (Montréal).

“Fizzes, Bangs + Whistles” is a concert of electroacoustic works to be held on November 5, 2002 at Sheffield’s Firth Hall (UK). Amongst the selected works, compositions by Javier Álvarez and Åke Parmerud.
