The Department of Music of Harvard (Cambridge, MA) presents the conference “Real-time interaction, composition & performance” by composer Jean-Claude Risset on April 21, 2004. This event is free and open to the public.

Composer Hildegard Westerkamp invites you to two soundwalks held in Vancouver (BC), April 25 and 28, 2004. In a soundwalk, the listening “audience” moves through a place and the environment “performs.” The walking listener and the environment create a unique piece together that can only occur during the time of the walk.

Amongst the activities presented in July by Phonurgia’s summer radio university, composer Bernard Fort will give a 4-day workshop on animal soundscapes and field recordings. In Camargue (France) on July 15 to 18, 2004.

Ingrid Drese is the the star od this 6th acousmatic cycle produced by Musiques & Recherches. Works by Dhomont, Vande Gorne and Bayle are also featured. The concert will be held April 22, 2004 at Brussels’ Petit Théâtre Mercelis (Belgium).

Chants libres presents “Opér’Actuel — Works in progress 2004” on April 4, 2004 in Montréal. Six works are on the programme including “Cantate du lit” by young composer Gabriel Dharmoo, and L’archange by Louis Dufort and Alexis Nouss (with soprano Véronique Dubois and Émilie Laforest).

Musiques & Recherches studios present their 5th acousmatic cycle, an overview of electroacoustic music by Belgium composers. The concert will be held at Brussels’ Petit Théâtre Mercelis March 13, 2004 and will feature works by Ingrid Drese, Elizabeth Anderson, Annette Vande Gorne, Todor Todoroff and many others.
