  • April 28 – May 14, 2005: Dufort Premieres Opera L’archange

    Louis Dufort is finishing the opera L’archange, on a libretto by Alexis Nouss, with visual work by Alain Pelletier, and staged by Pauline Vaillancourt. The opera is produced by Chants libres and will be presented at Sation C (Montréal) on April 28, 29, 30 as well as on May 5, 6, 7, 2005. It will also be presented during the Elektra festival on May 12, 13, 14, 2005. With Jean Maheux, Fides Krucker, Émilie Laforest, and Frédéricka Petit-Homme.

    April 29, 2005: Dolden: Retrospective in Sweden, Solo Concert in Denmark

    Paul Dolden, Ligeti and Yoshimi are Guest Composers at the Borderline Festival, in Malmö (Sweden), on April 25 — 29, 2005. More than twenty works by Dolden are featured in this great retrospective. Furthermore, the last evening will see the premiere of the complete and final version of Entropic Twilights. The previous week, on April 20, 2005, Dolden will give a solo concert at DIEM in Århus (Denmark).

    Explore your acoustic environment on a guided soundwalk with Hildegard Westerkamp and chris o’connor on April 17 and April 24, 2005. On a soundwalk, we can climb out of our bubbles, emerge from behind our windscreens, walls and windows, computer screens, loudspeakers and headphones and open our ears directly to the environment. Explore various Vancouver environments by ear, and listen to a “place” as if listening to a mysterious new concert performance or sound event.
