In Buenos Aires (Argentina), Francis Dhomont will present a conference and a concert at Universidad Nacional de Lanús on October 9, 2008 and a different conference and concert at Escuelas Ort on October 10. In Chile, for the 8th festival Ai-maako 2008, he will be part of an outdoors group concert in Valparaiso (October 12) and, in Santiago, he will give a solo concert (October 14), a master class (October 17) and a sound spatialization workshop (October 18).

On October 5, 1948 at 9PM on the French radio was broadcasted the very first musique concrète concert. Exactly 60 years later on 2 Montréal radio stations and one Québec City station, Réseaux des arts médiatiques presents a multi-radio event with Érick d’Orion, Mario Gauthier, and Hélène Prévost. These composers will play their own work live and Pierre Schaeffer’s first pieces. Turn on your radio receivers, log on the Internet radios to listen to 1, 2 or all 3 at the same time and celebrate with us all 60 years of electroacoustics.

Robert Normandeau’s Pluies noires (Black Rains), a work co-comissionned by Miso Music (Portugal) and Réseaux (Montréal), by will premiere on September 25, 2008 during the Festival Música Viva in Lisbon (Portugal). The work will also be presented on December 13 during Akousma (5) in Montréal. In Portugal, Robert Normandeau will also present Le renard et la rose along with two more works commissioned by Réseaux: Parcelles 2 by Christian Bouchard, and Ouest (a mouvement from Atlas) by Christian Calon.

Robert Normandeau is one of the artists invited to celebrate the opening of EMPAC (Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center) in Troy (NY, USA). He will present a concert of multiphonic works on a 40-loudspeaker diffusion system on October 9, 2008 at 9 pm. On the programme: Le renard et la rose, Tangram, Kuppel, and Chorus.

To celebrate the 95th anniversary of the publication of the The Art of Noises manifest by Futurist Luigi Russolo, audio curator and musician Érick d’Orion has prepared 2 evenings of audio art at Salle Multi in Québec City. 10 audio artist will present a new work based on this important text. On September 18, 2008, artists are: Alexis Bellavance, Michel F Côté, Christian Calon, and Hélène Prévost. On September 19: A_dontigny, Nicolas Bernier, Diane Labrosse, the duo Catherine S Massicotte & Éric Normand, and Jocelyn Robert.

Musiques & Recherches summer worshops in Ohain (Belgium) will take place from August 31 to September 4, 2008. The final concert will notably propose the spatial diffusion on M&R’s “wide format” acousmonium of Espace / Escape by Francis Dhomont and Figures d’espace by Annette Vande Gorne. The concert will take place, on September 4, at the Grange of the Ferme du Biéreau in Louvain-la-Neuve.
