Louis Dufort’s Matériaux composés and Gilles Gobeil’s Trois songes are both nominated for the Opus Prize in the category “Disc of the Year — Musique actuelle, Electroacoustics.” Gilles Gobeil is also nominated in the category “Concert of the Year — Musique actuelle, Electroacoustics,” for his concert entitled Trois songes presented during the Akousma (4) series produced by Réseaux in December 2007. The 12th Opus Prize Gala will take place on January 25, 2009 at Salle Claude-Champagne, Université de Montréal.

Michelle Boudreau is back from a visit in Sweden where she had been composing in residency at the Studio Alpha of the Visby International Centre for Composers (VICC). During her stay, she devoted herself to the composition of the ninth work of her song cycle for mezzo-soprano and electroacoustic elements titled L’étoile libre.

The first prize of the acousmatic composition competition Métamorphoses 2008 was awarded ex-aequo to Suk-Jun Kim and Joan Bagés i Rubi. The Public Prize went to Apostolos Loufopoulos; the Student Category Prize was given to Pôm Bouvier B.

Philippe Le Goff presents his audiovisual installation Sila at Carré des Jalles in Saint-Médard-en-Jalles (France) on October 9 to 31, 2008. Sila will travel to Théâtre des 4 saisons in Gradignan (France) on November 24 and 25. Finally, from December 26 to 31, it will be seen at Musée du Quai Branly in Paris.
