Today the eclectic radio show Délire actuel announced the “Top 30” of its Demanding Music list which includes Gratte-cité by Ned Bouhalassa.

Many electrocd.com artists are nominated for the 13th Opus Prizes, awarded since 1996 by the Conseil québécois de la musique. empreintes DIGITALes’ discs Chroniques d’une séduction by Jacques Tremblay and Gratte-cité by Ned Bouhalassa; as well as No Type’s disc Les arbres by Nicolas Bernier are nominated for “Disc of the Year — Musique actuelle, Electroacoustics.” The concert Remix de classiques! presenting Chorals ornés, a work by Yves Daoust, is nominated for “Concert of the Year – Musique actuelle, Electroacoustics,” as well as the concert by Jacques Poulin-Denis and Martin Messier presented as part of Akousma (5). The work Chorals ornés is also nominated for “Premiere of the Year.” Winners will be announced on January 31, 2010 during the Gala in Montréal.

The album [60]Project by Monty Adkins is nominated in the Experimentation / Research category of the sixth edition of the Qwartz Electronic Music Awards. Listen to and vote online for the finalist of your choice from December 7, 2009 to March 15, 2010. Qwartz 6 will take place on April 2, 2010 in Paris (France).

The Foundation Émile-Nelligan has awarded the Prix Serge-Garant 2009, for the entire work of a composer, to Yves Daoust during a ceremony on December 2, 2009 at the Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur in Montréal. For tyhe event, musicians Brigitte Poulin and David Cronkite performed Impromptu for piano, synthesizer / sampler, and tape. Founded in 1991 this triennial award has been given to Denys Bouliane, Michel Gonneville, Gilles Tremblay, Bruce Mather, François Morel, and John Rea.

After shows in Montréal in 1987 (Images du futur), in New York City in 1988 (Alternative Museum), in Munich in 1990 (Bilder Digital Galerie), and in Reims in 1992 (Centre national d’art technologique), the multimedia installation Big Bang II by Georges Dyens with music by Marcelle Deschênes will be exhibited in Rivière-du-Loup (Musée du Bas-Saint-Laurent) from October 9, 2009 to January 17, 2010.

Ai-maako, the 9th Festival Internacional de Música Electroacústica de Santiago de Chile, will take place on October 1 - 10, 2009 in Santiago (Chile). Amongst the selected works: Sisyphe by Francis Dhomont, Yegl by Elsa Justel, Murmures by Robert Normandeau, and Still Voices by Pete Stollery. Annette Vande Gorne will present a concert “carte blanche” on October 1 with amongst other, her works Figures d’espace, and Ce qu’a vu le vent d’Est. Elsa Justel will also present a “carte blanche” concert on October 8.
