“Fizzes, Bangs + Whistles” is a concert of electroacoustic works to be held on November 5, 2002 at Sheffield’s Firth Hall (UK). Amongst the selected works, compositions by Javier Álvarez and Åke Parmerud.

Aujourd’hui les musiques du futur (“Tomorrow’s music today”) is a series of concert produced bu the GMVL and held from November 12 to 16, 2002 at Les Subsistances (Lyon). Amongst the featured composers, Robert Normandeau will give an acousmatic concert on November 12 and the director of Musiques & Recherches (Ohain, Belgium), Annette Vande Gorne, will present her work Autour de la voix on November 13.

On October 10, 2002, at the UNESCO salle-cinema (Paris), Vivienne Spiteri will present a solo concert of electroacoustic and mixed works featuring scores and tapes by Kaija Saariaho, Micheline Coulombe Saint-Marcoux, Pierre Schaeffer, John Cage and a Colin Roche premiere.

John Young and Hans Tutschku were part of the festival Sonoimágenes — Festival acusmático y multimedial — in Buenos Aires (Argentina) in August 2002.

On Monday September 30, 2002, the 4th Orgue et couleurs festival invites you to a “connected” evening where traditional instruments and current technology meet for our greater pleasure. Robert Normandeau will present Chorus, recently awarded at the 2002 Freiburg International Sacred Music Composition competition; Gilles Gobeil will reveal to the Québec public his new creation, La perle et l’oubli for tape and ondes Martenot (performed by Suzanne Binet-Audet); also, the organ and piano duet Majoya. In Montréal’s Saint-Nom-de-Jésus church at 8pm.

Komsomolsk, an electronic duo composed of Philémon (Napalm Jazz, ’Gypt Gore) and Julie Rousse (The Freest of Radicals), will be live October 10, 2002 at Montréal’s Graff Gallery for the vernissage of French photographer George Rousse.
