Åke Parmerud and Roger Cochini will each be awarded the Qwartz Hommage Pierre-Schaeffer during the gala of the 5th Qwartz Electronic Music Awards at Cirque d’hiver Bouglione in Paris (France) on April 3, 2009. This prize pays tribute to a composer of electroacoutics. The previous prize winners are Bernard Parmegiani (2006); Henri Pousseur (2007); Beatriz Ferreyra and Jean-Claude Risset (2008).

The 27th International Festival of Films on Art (FIFA) will present Sisyphe, a videomusic by Inés Wickmann and Francis Dhomont, on March 21, 2009 at the Cinémathèque québécoise in Montréal.

Paroles égales (Catherine Ego, spoken voice; Arturo Parra, guitar and original music) has presented three premieres on the university radio Javeriana Estéreo in Santafé de Bogotá (Colombia) on March 1, 2009. amongst those pieces, Miguel by Arturo Parra, a work for guitar and tape which was awarded the first prize at the Concurso Nacional de Composición Musical Ciudad de Bogotá in 2008.

The videomusic Orchid by Milliseconde topographie is nominated in the 5th Qwartz Electronic Music Awards in the video category. Qwartz 5 will take place on April 2 and 3, 2009 [new dates] at Cirque d’hiver Bouglione in Paris (France).

Nicolas Bernier and Jacques Poulin-Denis has composed the music for two theatre productions: Le Complexe de Thénardier (directed by Denis Marleau) presented at the Espace Go in Montréal from January 20 to February 14, 2009 and La chambre blanche (a choreography by Ginette Laurin) presented at Place des Arts in Montréal on February 12 - 18. Both productions are back from triumphal tours in Europe. The adaptation of the music for La chambre blanche will be released on disc, Sur fond blanc, on February 12, available on electrocd.com.

Paul Dolden is writing a commission for the Ensemble Phoenix Basel (Switzerland). The work called Who Has the Strangest Melodies? will be premiered in their 2009-10 concert season.
