With Geisteswissen­schaften, A_dontigny approches directly or metaphorically an artist (Koons, Turner), a movement (American and French abstractionism), an author (Nietzsche, Foucault, Derrida, Frege) or even a concept (such as the impossible to translate “Wirkungsgeschichtesbewusstsein”) and produces a disc which is in parallel to ‘traditional’ electroacoustics and (industrial, punk and techno sub-cultures) electronica. Porté disparu dans une quincaillerie brings together a DVD-Video, CD-Audio and a 32-page booklet of the work of Jean-Pierre Gauthier, a Montréal-based artist well-known for his kinetic and sound installations. The DVD-Video presents 23 installations realized since 1997, while the CD-Audio is made of works brought into existence during his research for his installations. A retrospective of Jean-Pierre Gauthier’s work is shown at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal until April 22, 2007.

Étude n^o 3 pour cordes et poulies, the latest release from the Ekumen label, is a commission to Nicolas Bernier and Jacques Poulin-Denis by the dance company O Vertigo, for Ginette Laurin’s Étude n^o 3 pour cordes et poulies. The premiere of this choreography took place in March 2007 in Montréal and was very well received by the critics and the audience.
