Synthèse 2009 — 39th Bourges International Electronic Music and Compositions Festival will take place from May 29 to June 6, 2009 in Bourges (France). Amongst guest artists this year: Åke Parmerud, Pete Stollery, Jonty Harrison, Yves Daoust, Pierre Alexandre Tremblay, Georges Forget, João Pedro Oliveira, Ingrid Drese, and many others.

The Orford Arts Centre (Québec) announces its 4th Sound Art Workshop as part of the International Music Academy. Held on August 2 to 15, 2009 the workshop, directed by Yves Daoust, is open to sound creators of all styles. This year Yves Daoust — assisted by Alexandre Burton, and Jean Landry — has invited guest masters Gilles Gobeil, Jean-François Laporte, John Oswald, and Hans Tutschku with special guests Robert Normandeau, and Annette Vande Gorne.

Yves Daoust iw working hard on Chorals ornés, a new work for pipe organ and fixed sound. This 43-minute work will be premiered by Régis Rousseau on October 2, 2008 during 10th Fall Festival (organized by Orgue et couleurs) at the Église Saint-Nom-de-Jésus in Montréal. This concert is presented in collaboration with Réseaux des arts médiatiques.

The Orford Arts Centre (Québec) announces its 3rd Sound Art Workshop as part of the International Music Academy. Held on August 4 to 16, 2008 the workshop, directed by Yves Daoust, is open to sound creators of all styles. This year Yves Daoust has invited guest composers Natasha Barrett, Alexandre Burton, Jean Landry, and Paul Rudy. This year, the registered participants will be able to collaborate with performers of the Contemporary Music Interpretation Workshop.

Theresa Transistor, Christian Bouchard, Yves Daoust, Louis Dufort, Martin Leclerc, Milliseconde topographie, Éric Rocheleau, and Espaces sonores illimités (ESI) (with 6 improvisers et 1 light designer) will successively seduce the public during the opening night show Spatio lumino. This event is part of the Montréal/Nouvelles musiques festival and will take place on Saturday February 24, 2007 at the Société des arts technologiques, in Montréal.

This year Yves Daoust has invited guest “masters” Alain Savouret, Paul Koonce, Louis Dufort, Alexandre Burton, and “tonmeister” Jean Landry.
