The Futura 05 festival in Crest (France) will be held from August 18 — 28, 2005. Amongst the featured activities, the concert Horizons perdus on August 27, 2005 will present works by Alexandre Yterce, Francis Dhomont and Denis Dufour.

Composer Francis Dhomont will teach from July 20 — 22, 2005 in Arles (France), for radio art association Phonurgia Nova’s summer university. On the nights of July 22 and 25, 2005, Dhomont will present listening events to the participants, featuring the compositions Here and There (Dhomont), Les corps éblouis (Calon), Sous le regard d’un soleil noir (Dhomont), Voyage-miroir (Dhomont), Crystal Music (Roy) and Forêt profonde (Dhomont).

Sol y sombra… L’espace des spectres, a composition by Francis Dhomont and Arturo Parra, was selected for the next edition of the ICMC (International Computer Music Conference), to be held in Barcelona (Spain) from September 5 to 9, 2005. The European premiere of the work will take place at the Auditori on September 8, 2005. Works by Daniel Teruggi, Ludger Brümmer, Beatriz Ferreyra, David Berezan, Jean-Claude Risset, Elsa Justel and Paulina Sundin were also selected.

Élektrophonie presents the 2005 Nuit bleue from July 8 to 10, 2005 at Arc et Senans’ Saline Royale (France). Nuit bleue 2005 is the 4th edition of this festival dedicated to new electroacoustic and electronic music, and is presented in coproduction with the University of Birmingham (United Kingdom) and Musiques & Recherches (Belgium). Every acousmatic composition will be spatialized on acousmonium by Sébastien Chatron, Jonty Harrison, Isabel Pires and Annette Vande Gorne. The night will feature compositions by Pete Stollery, Adrian Moore, Denis Smalley, Stephan Dunkelman, Ingrid Drese, Robert Normandeau, Francis Dhomont, Patrick Ascione, Andrew Lewis, Trevor Wishart, Annette Vande Gorne, Elizabeth Anderson, Theodore Lotis, Roger Cochini, Bernard Fort, Jonty Harrison, John Young, David Berezan et Beatriz Ferreyra, amongst others. The concert will then be repeated integrally in Birmingham (UK) on July 16, 2005.

Francis Dhomont will present a two hours concert featuring, amongst other works, his complete Cycle de l’errance in Köln (Germany) on July 1, 2005. The composer will also take part in a round table on abstraction and figuration in his music. Dhomont will also take part in Élektrophonie’s Nuit bleue 2005 at Arc et Senans (France) on July 9, 2005.

Following an invitaion from Igor Lintz-Maues and Germán Toro Perez, Francis Dhomont will be in Vienna from June 7 to 14, 2005. A great concert of five of his works from 1998 to 2003 (including a presentation of his Cycle du son) will be held at the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Wien on June 8. On June 13 and 14, the composer will give conferences at the Institut für Komposition und Elektroakustik: L’acousmatique, une musique fixée et projetée (Acousmatic, a fixed and projected music) and Hypothèses sur un parcours personnel (Hypothesis on a personnal trajectory).
