  • September 14 – 23, 2007: Tétreault, Hansen at SAT, Montréal

    Go see Martin Tétreault in solo and duet with Mike Hansen during the espaceSONO:: audio.lab event presented by Upgrade! Montréal. The performance will take place on Friday September 14, 2007 at SAT in Montréal. Moreover, from September 10 to 23 {nbio:tetreault_ma} will be in artist in residence at SAT. This residence will conclude with a public performance on September 23.

    August 31 – September 23, 2007: The Sound of Norwegian Spring with Barrett

    The SLEPPET — the Sound of Norwegian Spring project, part of the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Edvard Grieg’s death, has invited creators in electronic music and sound art to produce works based on the sounds from the Norwegian nature and folk culture, those that have also inspired Grieg. Artists — amongst whom Natasha Barrett — have been invited to tour Western Norway in the Spring 2007 to experience and record its nature and rural culture. The works resulting from this process will become an exhibition from August 31 to September 23, 2007 in Bergen (Norway).     October 17 – 21, 2007: New Works by Calon, Drese, Normandeau, Vande Gorne at L’Espace du son, Brussels

    The 14th international acousmatic festival L’Espace du son will take place from October 17 to 21, 2007 at Théâtre Marni in Brussels. The opening night of the festival will celebrate the Musiques & Recherches’ 25th anniversary, premiering 3 musical works: Voix de l’aurore by Ingrid Drese, Murmures by Robert Normandeau, and Chœur des femmes 2, a movement from the opera Yawar Fiesta by Annette Vande Gorne on a libretto by Werner Lambersy. The day after, October 18, will be dedicated to Christian Calon’s music; October 19, to Jean-François Minjard; October 20, to Bernard Parmegiani; and October 21 to Beatriz Ferreyra and Ana Dall’Ara-Majek.

    December 1 – 2, 2007: Dhomont and Dufort at San Francisco

    Two virtuoso of “musique concrète” and acousmatic works — mentor and former student — will be at the “Binary Cities Event: Montréal, Canada – Avignon, France,” a NEXMAP concert. Francis Dhomont’s performance will include Here and There, Phonurgie, and Moirures (a videomusic realized in collaboration with Inés Wickmann). Louis Dufort will premiere the videomusic Flesh that explores the relationship between sonic and visual morphology. He will also diffuse 2 accousmatic works that examine the notion of movement; one of which, Gen_3, is an homage to Francis Dhomont and Pierre Schaeffer. This event will take place at the Recombinant Media Labs in San Francisco (USA) on December 1, 2007 [and December 2, 2007].
