Pete Stollery was one of the first members of the Birmingham’s BEAST (a renewed center for electroacoustic reserach) and now he runs the (similar) University of Aberdeen’s Electroacoustic Music Studio. He’s a conscious acousmatic researcher, well-known in the scene, and he has a peculiar ability in the art of combining and colliding sounds. He cultivates this practices and musical conceptions while showing a rare technical expertise. That seem the reason why, in this case, he opts for the DVD-Audio format, that assures a higher Khz/bit resolution. The album focus seem to be on the quality of the granular textures, the deep manipulation of the field recordings, and the consequent integration in an everchanging mesmerizing continuum. Nevertheless the musical structures are definitively the outcome of a self-referential system.

Natasha Barrett will present her sound installation Rain Forest during the Spor Festival on May 10 to 13, 2007 in Århus (Denmark). As for the musical piece Capture éphémère by Bernard Parmegiani, it will be presented in a version performed by The Ghettoblaster Ensemble.

Theresa Transistor, Christian Bouchard, Yves Daoust, Louis Dufort, Martin Leclerc, Milliseconde topographie, Éric Rocheleau, and Espaces sonores illimités (ESI) (with 6 improvisers et 1 light designer) will successively seduce the public during the opening night show Spatio lumino. This event is part of the Montréal/Nouvelles musiques festival and will take place on Saturday February 24, 2007 at the Société des arts technologiques, in Montréal.

Not only Martin Bédard will be part of the composers invited at the next Florida Electroacoustic Music Festival FEMF… Mathew Adkins will also present Cortex on April 12, 2007. He will present this musical piece again on April 28 at the Boston Cyberarts Festival.

Acousmatic pieces by Martin Bédard, Robert Normandeau, Mathew Adkins, Laurie Radford, Pete Stollery, plus a videomusic by Pierre Alexandre Tremblay will be presented during the MANTIS South-North Weekend Festival from March 9 to 11, 2007 in Manchester (UK). A total of 21 acousmatic compositions and 6 audiovisual works have been selected amongst the 186 proposals from composers from 32 countries.
