Réseaux presents Akousma (3), a series of 5 portrait-concerts of Elio Martusciello, saxophone quartet Quasar, Francis Dhomont (for and on his 80th birthday), Ludger Brümmer, and Christian Calon. Are also organized 4 master classes, conferences and sound diffusion workshops. On October 31 to November 4 2006 at the Monument-National in Montréal.

Les Escales improbables de Montréal will be held at the King Edward Pier in the Old Port of Montréal on September 2 and 3, 2006. Many activities will be held, such as “musical siestas,” interactive performances, and concerts with guest artists Christian Calon, Philippe Le Goff, Geneviève Letarte, and Michel A Smith, amongst several others.

Christian Calon and Robert Worby will be running courses in electroacoustic composition and improvisation at the CoMA (Contemporary Music-making for Amateurs)Summer School, in Doncaster (South Yorkshire, UK) from July 22 to 29, 2006.

Ludger Brümmer, Kevin Austin, Flô Menezes, Francis Dhomont, Lucio Garau, and Jonty Harrison are the guest composers at the 3rd Festival di musica acusmatica, June 23 to 25, 2006 in Cagliari (Sardinia). On June 24, Dhomont will spatialize works by several Québec composers: Noyade en magma by Dominique Bassal, 13’13 pour voix défigurées by Monique Jean and Time Well / La fontaine du temps by Christian Calon, and a work by Brümmer. Voyage-miroir by Dhomont will be presented by another guest composer, Garau. Finally, several other composers from empreintes DIGITALes will also be featured: Gobeil, Moore, Álvarez, Smalley, Tutschku, Fort, Stollery, and Lillios!

Inventionen 2006, Festival für aktuelle Musik presents concerts, installations and conferences on May 24-28, 2006 in Berlin. On May 25 Jocelyn Robert will present Resident of Unit D at Telas-Kubus (Klosterstraße 68-70, Berlin-Mitte). On May 28, at Villa Elisabeth (Invalidenstraße 3, Berlin-Mitte), Christian Calon, Robert Normandeau, Gilles Gobeil, and Francis Dhomont will respectively present their acousmatic work Time Well / La fontaine du temps, Tangram, Nuit cendre, and Voyage-miroir. During the whole festival, May 24-28, at DAAD Galerie (Zimmerstraße 90/91, Berlin-Mitte), the works StrinGDberg and Éden by Robert Normandeau will be played every half-hour from 11am to 6pm; a conference by this DAAD resident composer is planned for May 24 at 6pm.

Christian Calon will present the first part — North, commissionned by the Sonic Arts Network — of 5 of his new acousmatic project Atlas for a Portrait Concert to be presented on April 29, 2006 at the Sonic Arts Research Centre (Belfast, Northern Ireland) during the Sonorities Festival 2006. Works by Christian Bouchard and by Martin Bédard will also be presented on April 30.
