    Yves Daoust is one of the artists selected to produce a work to be presented on May 27 and 28, 2005 as part of the festival Deep Wireless. The artist will also be giving a short talk during the “Radio Without Boundaries” conference. About Time is a short sound documentary which aims to bring the tape recorder back to life. The work will be broadcast on CBC Radio in May 2005. Chantal Dumas and Christian Calon will also take part in the “Radioroad Mix” with a live presentation of “The little man in the ear” [Le petit homme dans l’oreille] on May 29, 2005.

    February 12, 2005: Mois Multi Presents Soft Avatar, Québec City

    Mois Multi, a festival of technological art, presents Soft Avatar, a concert of performances made with four original digital instruments created by the audio art collective Avatar, on February 12, 2005 at the Multi hall of Québec City’s Méduse complex. Jocelyn Robert, Louis Ouellet, Mériol Lehmann and Éric Morin will make a demonstration of “Map-O-Mix.” Philippe Pasquier will use the “MachinesMOTOR” in an multi-channel audiovideo context. Jocelyn Robert will perform with the “MRNJR” (a double Macchina Ricordi) and Georges Azzaria performance will feature the “DÉCHIQUETEUSErecoleuse” (CUTTERpaster). Finally, Christian Calon will present four compositions, each of them executed with one of the four software.

    May 1, 2004: Barrett and Smalley’s Premieres at Sonorities, Belfast

    Composers Natasha Barrett and Denis Smalley will each premiere a new composition for the Sonorities festival of contemporary music, held in Belfast (Northern Irland) from April 23 to May 1, 2004. Natasha Barrett presents her new work, Abemolpas, April 27. This concert also features works by Christian Calon and Elio Martusciello. The following day, April 28, Denis Smalley will premiere his new composition, entitled Resounding. On, April 29 the concert will feature works by Robert Normandeau and Jonty Harrison. Finally, the May 1 concert will showcase the works of Barry Truax, including the latest “remix” of his classic composition Riverrun

    For the “Monde parallèle Montréal 45°N//” event, organized by Lille — Cultural Capital of Europe, label empreintes DIGITALes presented a portrait of Montréal’s electroacoustic creation since 1971 through 24 works by 21 Montréal composers: Serge Arcuri, Yves Beaupré, Christian Bouchard, Ned Bouhalassa, Christian Calon, Micheline Coulombe Saint-Marcoux, Yves Daoust, Francis Dhomont, Paul Dolden, Louis Dufort, Gilles Gobeil, Monique Jean, René Lussier, Robert Normandeau, Arturo Parra, Mario Rodrigue, Stéphane Roy, Alain Thibault, Jacques Tremblay, Marc Tremblay, Roxanne Turcotte. Electroacoustic label empreintes DIGITALes, new media and electronic art festivals Elektra and Mutek with the collaboration of the Society for arts and technology (SAT) all teamed up to present the best of Montréal’s electronic music and video.
