Composers François Bayle and Morton Subotnick will take part in the 12th Música Viva Festival on September 23 to October 27, 2006 in Lisbon (Portugal). On September 28, Bayle will present a concert for loudspeaker orchestra and video, featuring some of his pieces which were awarded prizes at various Música Viva Electroacoustic Music Competitions: Arc, métaphore / lignes et points [II.6], and La forme de l’esprit est un papillon. Bayle will also give a composition master class and a lecture, L’invention du son.

This year, the Futura 06 festival in Crest (France) is compressed into a 3-day event — August 18 — 20, 2006 — and into one 35-hour concert. Amongst the featured composers: Luc Ferrari (homage), Michèle Bokanowski, Michel Chion, Darren Copeland, Matmos, Yann Paranthoën (homage), Elsa Justel, Roxanne Turcotte, and Pierre Henry. Then on August 27, a concert concluding an acousmatic diffusion workshop will feature 15 works by just as many composers, including Francis Dhomont and Marc Tremblay.

Sound Travels’ Multichannel Acousmatic Concert — produced by New Adventures in Sound Art (NAISA) — will take place on August 12, 2006 at St Andrew-by-the-Lake Church. On the programme are works by Benjamin Thigpen, Stéphane Roy, Denis Smalley, John Young, Francisco López, and Sarah Peebles (sho and tape).

Visiones Sonoras 2006 will take place on September 20 to 23, 2006 in Mexico City. The festival features concerts, workshops and conferences. Amongst the guest composers Hans Tutschku and Javier Álvarez will be presenting master classes and concerts.

The Panospria netlabel presents a showcase and tour send-off party for Blakkar Noir and Scant Intone. Featuring Nuthre, Camp, Blakkar Noir, Kolumkilli, Subtle Movements, and Post-Hypnotic Suggestion, the concert will be held at La Sala Rossa on August 12, 2006.
