Charles Amirkhanian will take part in the Garden of Memory on June 21, 2008 in Oakland (California, USA). He will present Rippling the Lamp (2006) for violin and tape, and the American premiere of Quince Quinoa (2007) for voice and tape.

Natasha Barrett will premiere Gentle Sediment on June 4, 2008 as part of the 38th Synthèse festival in Bourges (France). Her piece Crack for instrumental ensemble and live electronics will be performed by Ars Nova on June 6 at Birmingham Conservatoire’ Adrian Boult Hall (England, UK).

The 2008 Electroacoustic Music Studies Conference (EMS08) “Musique concrète — 60 years later” will take place on June 3-7, 2008 in Paris (France). Amongst the guest speakers:

• June 3: François Bayle at 6 pm
• June 6: Laurie Radford at 12 pm; Mathew Adkins at 2:30 pm
• June 7: Natasha Barrett at 9 am; Francis Dhomont at 3:30 pm; Robert Normandeau and Theodore Lotis at 4:30 pm

Three concerts are also organized on June 6, 7, and 8 at the Salle Olivier Messiaen of the Maison de Radio France.

The Ninth Set (sector 4) (2007 Magisterium Prize) by Roger Doyle will be premiered at the 38th Synthèse festival in Bourges (France) on June 1, 2008 at the Grand Théâtre. Also in this concert will be The Third Set and The Eighth Set (sector 1), all part of his large-scale work Passades.

Jean-François Denis is invited to the “Marketing” roundtable discussion on May 23, 2008 during the New Models of Distribution Conference, organized by Soundstreams in Toronto. Recently, on May 9, he was also invited to present the recent activities of the empreintes DIGITALes label at the 2nd International Marketplace of Digital Arts (MIAN), organized by ACREQ in Montréal.

Synthèse 2008 — 38th Bourges International Electronic Music and Compositions Festival will take place from May 30 to June 8, 2008 in Bourges (France). This year, the festival programme is entitled «between rebellion and revolution». Amongst guest artists of this edition: Mathew Adkins, Javier Álvarez, Natasha Barrett, Nicolas Bernier, Roger Doyle, Ingrid Drese, António Ferreira, Jean-Claude Risset, Pete Stollery, Annette Vande Gorne, and John Young.
