De wereld op zijn kop, de wereld teruggespoeld en weer opnieuw afgedraaid, zoiets is The Unireverse. Op hun cd Plays the Music laat het trio bestaande uit Brian Damage, Alex Moskos en Michael Caffrey naast 4 eigen nummers ook 4 bewerkingen horen van The Beatles (Tomorrow Never Knows), Donna Summer/Giorgio Moroder (U Feel Love (aka “I Feel Love”)), The Red Krayola (Transparent Radiation) en Brainticket. En dat voornamelijk op de Moog en andere elektronische apparatuur. Hiervoor hebben ze ook al muziek van Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Hawkwind en Silver Apples gecoverd op onder meer de Moog. Vooral die laatste twee passen goed in het krautrock-straatje van het prettig gestoorde trio. De smaakvolle beats vormen de lijm in het soms totaal psychedelische geheel vol Moog-geluiden en spacerock. Het roept herinneringen op aan Kraftwerk, Sun Ra en Hawkwind, maar dan uitgevoerd door!!!, Criterion en Jason Forrest. De productie is in stevige handen van elektro-akoestisch componist Paul Dolden, die de luistertrip helemaal de moeite waard maakt. Speel deze muziek gestoord vaak!

The 15th Florida Electroacoustic Music Festival (FEMF) will be held from April 6 to 8, 2006 at the Black Box Theater of the University of Florida in Gainesville (USA). John Chowning is composer-in-residence and works by Jonty Harrison, Adrian Moore, Elainie Lillios, David Berezan, Andrew Lewis, and others will be presented during the concert “Electroacoustic Music from the University of Birmingham” (UK).
