    Ina-GRM (Groupe de recherches musicales) has just released 4 new titles: Cactus géométries; Offrande by Javier Álvarez, Thrène by André Boucourechliev, Éloge de la bêtise ou Les péripéties des Ubu by Jacques Lejeune, and L’œil écoute by Bernard Parmegiani. Moreover, the Archives GRM boxset presents a wonderful panorama of musique concrète in 5 CDs featuring the music of over 40 composers.

    February 10 – 23, 2005: &records: Two Events

    The new record label &records, managed by Fabrizio Gilardino and Michel F Côté, announces two music events to be held in Montréal. Firstly, on February 10, 2005 at Casa del Popolo, a concert will feature musics by the Bernard Falaise and Martin Tétreault duo, followed by the band Bob (Éric Bernier, Michel F Côté, Guy Trifiro and their special guest Tétreault). Secondly, on February 23, 2005 at the O Patro Vys concert space, the band Foodsoon (Bernard Falaise, Alexander MacSween et Fabrizio Gilardino) will share the stage with Bob, again joined by Tétreault. The night will also feature videos by David Clérmont-Béïque and Frédéric St-Hilaire (Cinetik).

    Composers: Call for Works and Competitions

    The 35th Synthèse festival (Bourges, 2005) is asking for the participation of composers and sound artists in an open work project under the theme “Future worlds, automata and machines to get there.” Participants must send the information about their work, title and duration, before the end of March 2005. They must also send exclusively by email their programme note, biography and photography before April 30, 2005. All the selected works will be played continuously during the Synthèse 2005 festival. Moreover, the international Bourges competitions are now open. Candidates must choose to participate in one of the several sections. Candidates’ work and duly filled registration forms must be mailed prior to May 7, 2005. For more details, please visit www.imeb.net.

    Lastly, Miso Music Portugal presents the 6th edition of the electroacoutic music competition Música Viva 2005. The competition is opened to composers under 35 years of age.
